Carved from a limestone tablet, the piece depicts the taking of Psyche. She lays in the hands of Eros, while those around her look on. The stone was carved with traditional stone and etching tools, using the style greek sarcophagi as inspiration and influence.
Often times during tombs within the times of ancient Greece would portray that of a gorgon or laurel leaves, or cupid, but in cherub form. The purpose of changing his form for this project was to depict one of the few happier stories on a stone tablet, that could be interpreted in several different ways.
